4.1 Portfolio Review

For my portfolio I have managed to include all of my art pieces from the final major project that I produced for the first whilst the 3D models produced during practice and workshop sessions also being uploaded for those who view my profile to see, alongside this I also have a number of my personal projects that I have created outside of college uploaded to my blog with some of my ideas generation also being uploaded onto my art station blog. Although I have an extensive amount of art pieces uploaded to my blog I am at this point lacking in concept art as well as topics genres and techniques. The majority of the work I have produced include characters and objects from the genres of science fiction and fantasy, although these are my favourite genres to produce art work from I could branch myself out a bit more and focus on different art styles that and genres that will increase interest in my profile. Overall my blog contains a large amount of work but could be greatly expanded upon with more digital sketches and finished art work rather than just rough drafts and simple drawings.

Some features that are missing from my portfolio and that I would like to include is more drawings on anatomy as I do tend to struggle with character design depending on the type of person it is that I am drawing, alongside this I would also like to design more environmental pieces as I greatly enjoy viewing large conceptual art pieces that feature mesmerizing and highly detailed environments.

Thus far my portfolio includes work from the following subjects:

Ideas Generation for units 9 and 10

Concept Art

3D Models of medieval and fantasy weaponry including a potion bottle

Personal projects that I worked on over the summer

Digital Art work

Character Designs

What I plan to include over time on my portfolio is a series of life drawings and new art pieces that show different techniques and styles that give me a chance to learn and present new skills to and from other artists. I will also work on environment pieces as I believe that including these will extend the range of my audience whilst it will also give me a chance to further experiment with new styles and techniques on concept art, doing this will also allow me to view tutorials on how to produce impressive and realistic environmental art pieces so that I can use what I learn in the creation of my own art pieces.

Since I struggle tremendously with programming I will not be focusing on this specialism and will direct all my skills into concept art with upcoming work to include dioramas, anatomy drawings, life drawing, and conceptual art pieces that will include settings such as civilization, nature. These art pieces will be produced from many settings and genres which will show that I am expanding my skills and evolving as an artist.

As for the work I have already uploaded my final major project from the first year of the level 3 course has been uploaded to my portfolio and has been placed into its own collection folder that features all 4 artworks whilst each one has detailed annotations talking about the decisions and struggles I went through.
